26 test searches — 2 spelled correctly, 19 misspelled, 5 describing the product instead of naming it — run through five WooCommerce search options on one demo catalog, one at a time. Scored on one question: did the right product come up first, and when the right answer was “we don’t sell that”, did it say so?
Run 2026-07-13, every plugin on its out-of-the-box settings. Doofinder and Queryra on trial tiers; FiboSearch on the free tier — its paid PRO adds fuzzy typo matching, so that row is not a verdict on PRO. Queryra's trial rate-limits: its first run scored 13/26 on throttling alone, so we paced the searches and retried every empty result before recording it — 25/26 is the score it earns when the meter is not in the way, and it ties us. Doofinder ran on 240 products where the others ran on 192: its index would not drop the 48 we withheld and the plugin cannot force a re-sync — the 192 are a uniform slice of the same 16 product types, so its score is very unlikely to move, but that row is not identical to the others. This is a small, deliberately hard set (19 of 26 misspelled on purpose), not a general ranking. EN-only: cross-language search is not tested here, so we make no claim about it. Ten of the 26 are shown search-by-search on the Doofinder and FiboSearch comparison pages; there is no Queryra page yet.

Do I need an AppIn account?
Yes. The plugin is a WooCommerce integration for the AppIn cloud service. Create an account and get your API keys at my.app-in.io.
Does it support cross-language search?
Yes. AppIn understands 100+ languages, including true cross-language search — a query in one language can find products described in another. No per-language setup.
How is this different from a keyword plugin?
Keyword plugins match literal words, so typos or descriptive phrasing often return nothing. AppIn uses semantic embeddings to understand meaning, finding relevant products even without exact word overlap.
Will it slow down my store?
No. Syncing happens in the background via Action Scheduler. The search widget loads as a deferred script from the AppIn CDN.
What happens after the free trial?
If you haven't started a paid subscription, the store moves to the Free plan — search and indexing keep working on a lower monthly request allowance, and nothing is deleted. No surprise charge, no card required to trial.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No lock-in. You keep paid access until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the store moves to the Free plan — nothing is deleted. If you run more stores than the Free plan allows, the extra ones are parked until you upgrade. Export or delete your data whenever you want.
